Getting More Press Then They Deserve

I was watching the news today, and the story came up on how Vermont wants to secede form the Union. I laughed and thought about like a group of twenty people. Then the numbers came up and said that 13% want to secede. This was a rather large, alarming number, but nothing that is really that much of a threat.
Vermont seceding from the Union of America is perhaps the dumbest idea I have ever heard. That means that the boarders of the state are going to need to be guarded against any incoming threats, like illegals, extremists, etc. Also, this means that they can make ties with American enimies. It would be idiotic if Osama Bin Asshole is invited over to Burlington for some tea and crumpets just because a few whiny Left Wing liberal nutcases whined and moaned over the state of the country. I will not blame the whole state for this, but it is rather hilarious to think that the state, or any state in this generation could stand on its own, and govern itself entirely eternally. Then these extremeist blame the actions of the two-party system, and feel that they are not seeing any representation in the government. I may be a Libertarian Party member, and I have my squals with both parties at times, but this is bullshit.
(BTW, this is the most anyone should even note this stupid story) The Second Vermont of Republic is what this group calls itself. The government they establish will have to be similar to what the United States is today, but since it is a city-sate ideaology, it could become a Direct Democray (Key word "MOCK"). This means that there has to be more than one voice in the government, and I can see the whole process pissing them off again. So, pretty much their goal is rater idiotic in my opinion, and not that some of what they say is not agreeable, but extremisms do not ever work out for the best. Secession of the state of Vermont, if popularity of this group rises, will spell trouble for the individual state, as well as the country as a whole. If anything, these fools are being selfish to the whole. They also like to run away from problems, rather than confronting them, and making a change to what already exists. Funny how these people would be the same who said the country was doing so well under Clinton, who was a horrible president. Those who bash Bush, are the same people who supported Clinton's regime, and anyone who supported Clinton's actions, is someone I am glad disagrees with me.
Alas, politics as a whole are not the key for this post. Anyone who supports the Second Republic of Vermont has to realize one thing: They are far from a threat, and are not going to EVER secede. I say let them cry and bitch and moan, and let the rest of America worry about more realistic issues, like ending this war, and putting better canidates into office. I don't care what party they come from, because if they are focusing on either an R or a D in front of their name, they are not worth my time to even listen to, for my ears will bleed. I am not affiliated with a gang, so my party does not always mean who I vote for, although I usually vote for who deserves the posistion.
Vermont needs to allow these people the right to beleive whatever they want, but if they honestly want to secede, it's just not gonna happen. Anyhow, there are several blogs on the subject if you would like more information on why they are seceding, the mock "flag" of the Second Republic of Vermont *laughs*. http://www.vermontsecession.blogspot.com/ Here's one from blogger itself, and it's about the secession and what exactly it's all about. http://www.vermontrepublic.org/ Here's another website full of writings from Thomas H. Naylor, who is an author of several books on the idea of secession, and is spearheading this idea. Pretty much, he's a nutcase, but a smart one, nevertheless, he's still fucking nuts!

image from http://www.vt.ang.af.mil/ncodisk/02/f/GMB-Fl1.jpg This is the Second Republic's flag, that they mean to establish as their "country's" flag. It's rather humorous and all, but sadly they are serious.

I respect his ideas, I just don't agree with them, and he's a nutcase liberal, who is again not helping the Democrats win favor in the majority of America. Please, stop putting these idiots in power! Put new idiots in power, vote Libertarian for the sake of sanity!
