An Open Letter, and a Plead to Legendary Pictures

Dear Legendary Pictures, Like many of you, I am the textbook definition of an early 80's late 90's child, and I've grown up with so many classic television shows, and toy lines. I'm also part of that said generation that hates it when Hollywood takes a shit on everything that brings me nostalgic joy. I have seen many things from my generation get ruined by directors who have a field day with the source material, and others who do not direct or write with the fans in mind. Now I'm just one person, and most likely I'm fighting a losing battle, but it hurts me when someone thinks Michael Bay is an amazing director. I am an avid fan of Dino-Riders, well before this hipster generation rediscovers it, and they will, and they will have the likes of Mr. Michael Bay ruin it because that is his purpose. I know the complexities of the business are more rooted in basically shuffling around money, but I respect the integrity of Legendary Pictures to hone in on the value of a franchise for the creative individuals originally behind it, and thus create a piece of film viable for the fans. I know you're probably busy coming up with new ideas, and I'm sure now that you own the Godzilla franchise, you'll be focused greatly on that, all-the-while I have to watch Michael Bay rape the Transformers, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Please understand I'm not some typical fanboy, I know the inevitable is likely to happen, and I can protest with my wallet. Like most things in life: you either take control, or you accept you couldn't do a blessed thing to stop the oncoming storm. If I was rich enough, I would buy up the rights, hire a great scriptwriter, or just plain write it myself, and make the Dino-Riders film just for the fans. I'd take ideas from all source material (there's enough of it to go around) and I'd make the script inviting, rather than some masturbatory celebration Hollywood does at every premiere. I don't have the resources to save this franchise, and I know once a Michael Bay, or worst: a Uwe Boll, get their hands on it, they will ruin it, rather than build off a potential franchise that I'm sure would lead to a reinvigoration into children's fascination with dinosaurs. I'm sure I'm not the only one to come forward on this subject, and I know in hindsight, we all have far more pressing matters to attend to, but to me, this is about preserving the past, and not ruining opportunities for the future. I am writing from the heart, because I know the great people at Legendary Pictures care about the art, and they care about the fans. I know someone is going to ruin this franchise, but I believe it would be best handled in the hands of Legendary Pictures. I hope you agree with me, and I hope you could be the ones to bring the Vularians and Rulans to life in the best possible way. Thank you very much for your time.
