Should Margret Geroge ever stop fascinating me with her work I would disown reading books forever! Hopefully this will not happen with her next project nor with any future projects, but who knows what the future may bring. Her first novel "Autobiography of Henry VIII" has not lost any of its charm since its late 80's release.
If you have not read Geroge's work before, please run out and buy all her novels, it is worth the money. Her novels make excellent gifts to the reader in your family, in that they will want to be lost inside her ginat worlds that come to life through imagination. This novel is around 133 chapters long, and determining the exact copy you buy, can be up to 940 pages long. It is a huge book, and is worth reading, along with the rest of her works.
This novel follows Henry VIII, king of England, and documents his life as he would have told it, in this epic novel of lust, greed, hatred, and power, it is by far a most interesting read. If you want a story full of sex, violence, and sheer desire, look no further than "The Autobiography of Henry VIII."
You follow Henry through his life, and with comments made by his fool, Will Somers, you will get a very subjective view of the man's life, and perhaps a dramatic overview of his relationship with his six wives, two of whom he had executed. You will "see" Henry's struggle with not being able to bear an heir to the throne, and you will feel the remorse for him as a human being, as George inteneded the novel to go.
Read this book, it will make you enjoy reading again if you ever lost the faith you had in the liteary world.
