Hello everyone, thanks for reading this blog. I've been busy, writing a book, and two short stories, one of which I've finished, and I'm finding that the more I write, the more I wish I could have four sets of arms and hands just so I can finish all my ideas. As you all know, I've had issues with Internet usage lately, and it's been hard to post anything recently. I've noticed my other blog posts have been read numerous times from people around the world, and I'm always thankful for that. it's a rare opportunity for anyone to actually have their work read by such a broad audience outside of a blog. I'm looking forward to posting again, and perhaps setting up a short piece here and there. I do want to do some more reviews, but the last big review I was able to finish was Arkham City. I'm reading some more books that are somewhat new, and they may be of interest to those who read my blog. I've even written two Batman stories, both of which were merely for my own amusement, and will probably not be posted here, but I'll have to see how it goes.
I'm also looking towards the summer, and eventually going to Comic Con NY again this October. I do plan to be fully prepared to bring my readers as much information as I can, and although PAX was not doable this time around, I want to assure that I will have some form of video posted here as well. So I do hope to have as much information as possible, and information my readers will find viable.
Summer movies will probably be my next big reviews, and perhaps a few editorials (not counting this here), so if you've enjoyed those in the past, be on the lookout. For all my twitter followers, thanks for the support, and your subscriptions, they do help my blog. Aside from everything I post, both good and bad, I always wanted to write to a mass audience on topics of interests, mostly the Mass Media/Digital Media that has become the essence of our daily lives. When I first started this blog, Myspace was king, and Facebook was up-and-coming to the world. The way things have changed in less than six years is astounding for someone that remembers what an Amiga computer looked like, and how cool it was to play Space Invaders on a floppy drive for the old Apple II. I do video game reviews because I see them as the future of entertainment, and what countercultures they will inspire/have inspired in our daily lives.
The cultures are amazingly mashed together to the point where it's not so-much punk, hippie, rock/etc. that we've come to terms with an amoeba generation. I pay tribute to film, television, and even books because they are also respected forms of Mass Media, and now that blogs have become some of the most important news sources on the planet, it's incredible to see how basically young, independent journalist have turned this form of media into one of the most important medias on the planet. Twitter, Facebook, Liveleak even have become some of the more influential sources for news, and perhaps some of the lesser influential sources, but are the standard nonetheless. Old media is not keeping up as well, but in a world where Cyberpunk is becoming closer to a reality of what our culture is, the Matrix and other science fiction-like worlds don't seem that far behind.
Our children, and their children will live in a world so vastly different from this merger of the Old and New that has come to be, it'll be like an alien planet to us. So much of what we've imagined is going to be all streamed live right from fiction into fact, and it all starts with global connection, and a yearning to know what will come next. I've always been one of those people that looked towards the future, and respect the present, yet I knew the potential that would come from our greatest minds, and their achievements that are yet to be made. The future is clearly digital, a fiber optic Toy-land where we will not just have the means of information scattered in a treasure hunt of search engines, but at the very tips of our finger tips, and melted into our minds.
It all starts with our yearning for information, and it will end with information mending with us, simply because it's the evolution of our technology, and the storm of up-to-date needs of everything and anything glistening like trinkets of knowledge. Science Fiction is only fiction until someone figures out how to script a process. Once that process is finished, we are left with how far the human potential can be pushed, and how far our technology can expand. We live in the culture of the iPhone, the need to have information handy at any time, and to have all our resources complied, a hodgepodge of what makes us the individuals we are, and with all the work we put forth, it's incredible to think just how neon the future will be.
